Patch 2.1

Good King Moogle Mog will returning as a boss fight. More than likely he will be accessible through the duty finder. Please look forward to it.

A new difficulty for Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan fights will be added in this patch as well. They haven’t quite decided if they’ll call them hard, super, ultra, extreme, or any other awesome intense name. I can see it now. “Ifrit, for real this time”. Two hard level dungeons and the Crystal Tower, a 24-man raid dungeon, will be added.

New Hildibrand quests and FATEs are being added. If you didn’t know, Hildibrand was a comic relief NPC from version 1.0. He has his own… unique sense of humor.

The Wolves Den, a 4v4 and 8v8 arena will be opening in this patch. You can travel to it by boat from Lower La Noscea, and to enter the arena you must use the Duty Finder.

And lastly, Mists, the La Noscea player housing region will be unlocked in 2.1. Houses are available to Free Companies and individual players for a monetary value.

We still have a few days before the patch launches but let’s take a peek at patch 2.05 in advance!

We’ve had a few separate pieces detailing some of the updates that are being added to FFXIV this coming week but I wanted to take a minute and put them all together as a sum up of what you can expect to see added. The big daddies of the 2.05 Hotfix patch are obvious and I’ve included links to the individual stories should you need more information about any feature:
•World Transfers (7 Free days from the 15th to the 21st of October)
•All Saint’s Wake “Halloween” event
•Cactaur and Bomb Earring Vendors Added

What else does 2.05 have in store though?

Well, according to a number of Dev posts on the official forums we have a lot of bug fixes coming in this Hotfix patch which is certainly a good thing but there are some specific fixes and enhancements that should make a lot of us quite happy. Let’s break 2.05 down a bit more with the help of a few dev posts and translations:
•Changes will be made to the way equipment is bound.
•Introducing additional servers and enhancements to act as a countermeasure against the congestion to enter “Amdapor Keep.” (MUCH needed still)
•The difficulty for level 50 dungeons will be adjusted. (They also talked about improving things so there’s reasons to kill trash mobs but provided no details yet.)
•The number of areas where you can acquire Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy and Mythology will be increased as well as the amount you can acquire. (CAN I GET AN AMEN!?!)
•Implementation of a population cap for each field (This is actually coming on October 11th and details have yet to be released. This kind of sounds like population control for FATEs though.)

•Adjustments to the spawn rate of monsters that drop diremite web and additional locations where Karakul can be found. (READ: “Holy Crap we didn’t expect them to be farmed this much )
•The amount of experience points that can be acquired on botanist and miner, as well the experience points that can be acquired from their fieldcraft leves, will be increased. (Welcome news to a ton of players, incidentally Fishing will remain as is…because it’s awesome)
•User interface elements related to materia and target information will be adjusted.
•Bug where the Duty Finder places you in a group that has completed the dungeon will be fixed.

Finally, we should probably sum up the “when and where” for Patch 2.05. Here’s when you can expect it to all go down according to the Lodestone:
